Paint faces for a multi-color 3D print
Forma3D lets you assign palette colors to individual mesh faces or connected regions, then export a 3MF file containing per-face color data for compatible multi-filament print workflows.

Fill connected regions
Flood Fill follows connected faces and can stop at sharp dihedral-angle boundaries, which is useful for buttons, panels, and hard-surface parts.
Auto Paint
Auto Paint segments a mesh into regions using connectivity and surface direction, then assigns available palette colors.
Fast updates for large meshes
Metal color buffers allow many paint changes to update without rebuilding the complete geometry. The public 1.2.4 release notes report paint-mode performance up to 1 million polygons.
What the exported 3MF contains
- Per-face color assignments used by the multi-filament export path.
- Filament palette and printer-setting metadata for compatible Bambu and Creality workflows.
- Optional Bambu printer profiles, nozzle settings, plate settings, filament presets, and print settings.
- Selected, visible, or all-object export scope.
Important: Forma3D prepares and exports the file. It does not discover printers, connect over Wi-Fi, send to Bambu Handy, upload to MakerWorld, or connect to Creality Cloud. Open or upload the exported 3MF in the destination software yourself.
From model to print
Import an STL or 3MF, paint the faces you want to print in different filaments, verify the model in the viewport, and export a 3MF for the next step in Bambu Studio, Creality Print, or another compatible slicer workflow.
