  1. is there any way to cut a model in two so it fits the a1 mini bed? its like 2cm too tall

    Q1004 · Dave K · 2026-11-02

Yes, and no need to guess where the cut lands. In Edit mode switch to edges, tap one edge at the height you want, then press Loop Select → Select Loop — that selects the whole ring around the model. Now press Split and pick one of two options: Split by Edges gives a clean cut into two objects, Separate with Joint paints regions and adds a peg-and-socket joint (Peg box) so the halves lock back together. If you scaled the model after import, press Transform → Bake before separating so the joint comes out at real size. For just 2cm a small scale-down also works, but splitting keeps it full size.

  2. lidar scan on my iphone 15 pro keeps getting holes on a glossy keyboard and a glass cup. is the scanner broken or am i doing it wrong

    Q1003 · 2026-11-02

Nothing is broken — LiDAR is infrared, so glossy and transparent surfaces just don't bounce the signal back. Spray the object with a matte coating (dry shampoo or chalk spray works), or scan anyway and close the holes with the repair tool after.

  3. i painted my model and sent it to bambu studio but all the colors are gone?? the file is just gray

    Q1002 · lena · 2026-10-31

Check the export format — you probably sent an .stl. STL has no way to store face colors at all, it's geometry only. Export as .3mf instead, Bambu Studio reads the painted colors from that.

  4. downloaded a file from makerworld and cant figure out how to open it in the app. i tap it and it just shows in files. what am i doing wrong

    Q1001 · Marcus · 2026-10-29

Don't tap it straight from Downloads — open the Share sheet on the file and pick Forma3D, or use Import inside the app (takes STL, 3MF and USDZ from Files). If it came as a .zip, the app can inspect inside archives too — but unzipping first in Files is the safe route.
