Tips for best results

• Choose the correct printer model in Forma3D's export dialog — the profile must match your actual Bambu Lab printer.
• If you painted faces for multi-filament printing, select the matching filament colors in the export settings so Bambu Handy assigns them correctly.
• Check the model size before exporting — use the bounding box editor in Forma3D to set exact dimensions in millimeters.
• Make sure your Bambu Lab printer is online and linked to the same Bambu account used in Bambu Handy.
• If MakerWorld takes time to process the upload, refresh the model page after a minute — large 3MF files may need a few seconds to parse.

Frequently asked questions

• Why can't I print an STL file from Bambu Handy? — Bambu Handy is not a slicer. It cannot convert an STL or 3MF file into G-code on its own. To print from Bambu Handy, a model must first be uploaded to MakerWorld with a print profile (a 3MF file that contains slice settings). Forma3D solves this by exporting a 3MF with the print profile embedded, so Bambu Handy can slice and print it through the cloud.
• How do I upload a model to Bambu Handy? — You cannot upload directly from within Bambu Handy — the app does not have an upload feature. Instead, open makerworld.com in Safari on your iPhone, sign in, tap Upload, and select your 3MF file. Once it's on MakerWorld, Bambu Handy can find it and send it to your printer.
• Can I print from my phone without Bambu Studio? — Yes. The entire workflow runs on iPhone or iPad: Forma3D for modeling and export, Safari for MakerWorld upload, and Bambu Handy for printing. No desktop computer or Bambu Studio installation is required at any step.
• Why does Bambu Handy say it can't print my STL? — STL files contain only geometry and no print profile. Without a print profile, Bambu Handy has no slicing settings and cannot prepare the model for printing. Export your model as a 3MF with print settings from Forma3D instead — the 3MF format carries the printer model, nozzle, plate, and filament configuration that Bambu Handy needs.
• Can I open STL files directly in Bambu Handy? — No. Bambu Handy does not support opening STL or 3MF files from your phone's storage. It can only print models that are already on MakerWorld with a valid print profile. Use Forma3D to load your STL, export a Bambu-ready 3MF, upload it to MakerWorld, then print from Bambu Handy.
